Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's BJP government won a third consecutive term in 2022 with help from several post-poll defections. Congress, AAP, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, Goa Forward Party, and the newer Revolutionary Goans Party all contest a fragmented, multi-cornered field.
